Salamanca New York

Salamanca is located in Cattaraugus County 32 miles east of Jamestown between Elkdale and Kill Buck along Highway 305 on the banks of the Allegheny River near the Pennslyvania state line. It is in the Western Region of the region. Salamanca was named for the Duke of Salamanca, who helped finance the Atlantic and Great Western Railroad. The Iroquois heritage is evident in the local artisan's traditional arts here.
