Prospect Park

Prospect Park is the masterpiece of landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, whose notable achievements include Central Park, the National Zoo, and the Emerald Necklace in Boston, to name a few. The 526-acre Park immediately su rrounds its visitors with nature. There is a 60-acre lake on the east side, a 90-acre meadow on the west, and Brooklyn's last natural forest in between.

The Park's many popular destinations include the Picnic House overlooking the Long Meadow, the Carousel, the Lefferts Homestead Historic House Children's Museum, the Kate Wollman Center and Rink, the Boathouse located on the Lullwater, the Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza, the Nethermead, the Bandshell, and five playgrounds. Prospect Park hosts hundreds of events annually, including concerts, sporting events, performing arts, festivals, and tours.
