Pedaling History Bicycle Museum |
With more than 300 bicycles including antiques, originals and reproductions, this museum is said to be the countrys largest museum of its kind. Displays include a collection of children's wheeled vehicles dating from the 1890s; boneshakers built during the 1860s and so named because of the jaring riders experienced; wooden highwheels; an 1881 Marine bicycle; and folding paratrooper bicycles used during World War II. Changing exhibits and programs are also featured.
Open Monday through Saturday 11am-5pm, Sunday 1:30pm-5pm in April through January; hours vary the rest of the year.
