New York State Capitol

Built in the 1880s, the Capitol Building took from 1867 to 1899, with a final cost of $25 million dollars. It is 400 feet long and 300 feet wide, and five stories with a full basement and attic. It is home to the Executive Offices of George Pataki, Governor of the State of New York, the New York State Assembly, and the New York State Senate. These three offices comprise the major decision making power of the state of New York.
