National Soaring Museum |
Near Elmira, the complex shares 350 acres atop Harris Hill with a Chemung County park. The park's facilities include a pool, youth camp, and cabins. Also: picnic areas, camping, kiddie park, 3-hole golf course, driving range, a scenic overlook, and a historic gliderport (two hangars and two runways). Featured at the museum are movies and exhibits with a gliding theme. Interactive programs feature a sailplane cockpit simulator.
