Montauk New York

Montauk is located in Suffolk County along Highway 27 near Lake Montauk in the Southern Region of the state. Once inhabited by the Montaukett Indians, Montauk is a resort on a peninsula along the south shore of extreme eastern Long Island. The "cod ledge" off the banks of Montauk is one of the most renowned fishing areas in the world.

Hither Hill State Park and Montauk Point State Park provide various recreational facilities. Montauk County Park also offers recreational facilities as well as the 1799 Third House Museum. Montauk is part of the Nassau-Suffolk, New York metro area.
