North Central Bronx Hospital |
Since opening in 1976, North Central Bronx Hospital (NCBH) has developed some of the finest clinical programs in the nation. The hospital was the first in the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation to introduce primary care team modules in a hospital setting. In the late 1980s, the facility began expanding its mission as a primary care community hospital with the introduction of evening and weekend hours, the establishment of an HIV center and the expansion of inpatient behavioral health services.
Today, North Central Bronx Hospital is a major provider of comprehensive health care in one of [newyork]'s most ethnically diverse service areas. NCBH offers a wide range of primary, medical, surgical, obstetrical/gynecological, behavioral health services and state-of-the-art inpatient care. NCBH has 25 adult and 30 newborn beds. The Emergency Room, open 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, is a 911 receiving hospital.
