Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca has been providing health care to the citizens of Ithaca and the greater Finger Lakes region for more than 100 years. The fith largest employer in Tompkins County, Cayuga Medical Center employs 800 health-care professionals and has an affiliated medical staff of 180 physicians. A 204-bed acute-care facility that offers state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment services, they are a highly accredited, not-for-profit regional health care organization, and one of only nine rural referral centers in the state. Each year more than 150,000 patients use their comprehensive acute care and outpatient services. Through decades of hard work and planning, medical and surgical services that residents once had to seek elsewhere are available here in the community.
