Newark-Wayne Community Hospital opened its doors in 1957, filling the role of the former Doctor?s Hospital in Newark. The new facility was made possible through strong community support. In fact, the community established the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary three years before the hospital was even built.
These traditions, including a strong commitment to providing quality care for their communities, remain. In fact, the commitment to quality is one of the most important aspects of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and this commitment will not change.
