Guggenheim Museum South of Houston

In 1992 the Guggenheim expanded. The Frank Lloyd Wright building was restored and supplemented by a new tower, adding space while allowing Wright's great rotunda and the monitor building more visibility. At the same time, it opened new space in down town Manhattan, the Guggenheim in Soho. This museum is housed in an historic 19th century building, its interior, designed by Arata Isozaki, has many exhibits from the permanent collection. Special exhibitions complement those at the main museum.
