Fort Ticonderoga

Fort Ticonderoga, 1 mile northeast of Ticonderoga on Hwy 74 was built in 1755 by the French, who named it Fort Carillon. Bordering Lake Camplain, the fort controlled the connecting waterway between Canada and the American Colonies.

Fort Ticonderoga has been restored on the original foundations according to the French plans. The museum contains collections of weapons, utensils, paintings and papers dealing with the Colonial and Revolutionary periods.
