Boonville New York |
Boonville is located in Oneida County 28 miles north of Utica between Talcotville and Alder Creek along Highway 26 near Pixley Falls State Park and the Black River. Many grand houses from Boonville's prosperous era are located on Schuyler Street. It is part of the Central Region of the state. Boonville is part of the Utica-Rome, New York metro area.
Boonville was named after Garret Boon, agent with the Holland Land Company. A milk strike turned violent here in 1933, when state troopers attacked dairy farmers.
