Albany Institute of History and Art |
Founded in 1791, the institute is the second oldest museum in the United States, its goal to promote agriculture, arts and manufacturers. Spanning four centuries from the late seventeenth century to present day, the collections of the Albany Institute of History & Art reflect Albany and the Upper Hudson Valley in history and art history. Exhibits include Hudson River School landscapes, limner portraits, silver, furniture, sculpture, pewter, ceramics, and arts - and the Egyptian collection. Also on site is the McKinney Library.
