Northeast Region

The Northeast Region of Florida is sometimes referred to as the "First Coast". St Augustine, the oldest city in North America, was founded here by Spanish explorers in 1565, and is full of historical attractions.

Jacksonville, North America's largest city in land area, is the primary commercial site of the region. It boasts more than 200 parks, a fantastic riverwalk and water taxis, the University of Jacksonville, and numerous art galleries and museums.

Outdoor recreation is plentiful in the Northeast Region's rivers, forests, hiking trails and miles of ocean beach along the Atlantic.
