Vizcaya Museum & Garden

Miami-Dade Parks

One of only two officially designated National Historic Landmarks in Miami-Dade County, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is an Italian Renaissance-style villa and formal gardens built in 1916 as the winter residence of industrialist James Deering. Situated on Biscayne Bay, the house includes 34 rooms of 15th- through 19th-century antique furnishings and decorative arts, while the grounds feature over 10 acres of formal gardens and fountains. Guided tours are often available, and group tours arranged by appointment. Visitors can get a unique look at the spectacular formal Italian gardens during special 'moonlight tours' which begin at 7:30pm on designated evenings; call ahead for dates and required reservations to attend. A gift shop and cafe are also on site. Vizcaya is open to the public daily.
