Tampa International Airport received its first commercial airline arrival in 1971. In 1986, it handled more than 13 million passengers. Airport access is via I275 and I4. Garages are located on either side of the main terminal building for short- and long-term parking. Monorail access to the terminal is available on the 5th floor of the short-term parking garage and valet parking is available. On-airport rental car companies, ground transportation services, skycaps, and courtesy hotel phones are all located on the baggage claim level of the terminal.
Airport services include dataports, business center, currency exchange, chapel, restaurants, lounges, food courts, duty free shops, news/gift stands, interactive childrens areas, and art exhibits located throughout land- and airside terminals.
