Stuart is located in Martin County north of West Palm Beach between Port St Lucie and Hobe Sound along Hwy 1 near the St Lucie Inlet and the Atlantic coastline.

There is also a Stuart, Nebraska.

Stuart is part of the Fort Pierce-Port St. Lucie, Florida metro area.

Stuart has a dock facility at the Riverwalk behind City Hall. This facility has capability of docking twelve boats of up to 20 feet in length, and a depth of 5 to 6 feet, the facility is designed to provide short term dockage up to three hours for boaters wishing to visit the historic downtown area.

Fishing is excellent through-out the Stuart location.
