Oakland Park Florida

Oakland Park is located in Broward County off of US Hwy 1 just south of Pompano Beach between Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Fort Lauderdale along the Atlantic coastline (part of the Fort Lauderdale, Florida metro area).

The city of Oakland Park was named for its tall oaks.

This community was incorporated after its predecessor, the city of Floranada, went bankrupt after the 1926 hurricane.
