Nokomis is located in Sarasota County south of St Petersburg between Sarasota and Venice along Hwy 41 near the Gulf of Mexico. Nokomis is part of the Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida metro area.
Nokomis, which was once known for having more cows than people, is now known for its picturesque seashore, many shopping opportunities and beautiful residential areas.
Nokomis Beach is known for its fishing, as well as its very accessible boat launch ramp.
