For nearly 50 years, the Miami Museum of Science has educated and excited Florida's Dade County about the physical and natural sciences, astrology, technology and the state's unique ecology. Offering both permanent and traveling exhibits; set for 2002, a 'Kinetosaurs' exhibit will allow visitors to manipulate life-sized automated dinosaur replicas, bringing pre-history to life.
The Falcon Batchelor Bird of Prey Center at the Museum is dedicated to the ecological research, rehabilitation, and release of injured birds of prey. Visitors are free to explore and learn about the facilities, activities, and offerings. Planetarium dome hosts daytime shows as well as laser shows; free telescopic viewing of the moon and stars in the Weintraub Observatory, Friday nights, weather permitting; and free live star show Friday evenings.
