Miami Florida

Miami - Miami Beach is located in Miami-Dade County, south of West Palm Beach. The city lies between Fort Lauderdale and Key Largo, along Interstate 95 near Biscayne Bay.

There is also a Miami.

During the first half of the 1900s, Miami grew from a small village on Biscayne Bay to the largest metropolis in the state. The name Miami comes from the Miami River. During the 1920s, a great real estate boom centered in Miami. In 1926, a devastating hurricane struck the city and another storm hit in 1928. In 1929, the Great Depression hit, but Miami recovered and prospered.

Today, the city is a center of international commerce and the gateway to Latin America. Its neighborhoods reflect a diverse ethnic mix. Places to visit are the Ancient Spanish Monastery, Coral Castle and the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art, among others. In addition, the nearby Florida Keys, just to the south, are a major tourist destination.
