Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge |
This 145,000-acre refuge is home to endangered and threatened species such as the snail kite, wood stork and American alligator. Offers facilities for fishing, boating and birdwatching. Other features include an observation tower, nature trails, a 5.5 mile canoe trail and a visitor center with exhibits and a videotape presentation about the area. Refuge open daily 6am-dusk. Visitor center open 9am-4pm
