Lowe Art Museum--University of Miami

Located on the University of Miami campus, the renovated Lowe Art Museum is designated as one of the state's 'Major Cultural Institutions.' The museum's collections and exhibits include original works of art from various periods and continents; featured are important Asian and pre-Columbian collections. The Lowe is the only area museum to maintain a significant selection of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artifacts; the collections help students understand the historic role of these cultures in the development of Western Art.

The museum frequently features traveling exhibitions, and often borrows individual works for a special exhibit. Docent guided tours of the museum's permanent collections and temporary exhibitions are available for groups of 10 or more with advance scheduling. Closed Mondays; under 12 admitted free of charge.
