Comments: I used to live down there. I came there about three years ago and I think the place is a wonderful place to be. Quiet, clean, and the person I've spoken to to make reservations for camping was actually very nice and tollerable to my questions and concerns. My family and I have always had a great time there and that's why I'm coming back. I don't mind the noise, I used to live in the city. I'd rather hear a helicopter than an ambulance or fire truck. I'd rather wake up early hearing those noises then to spend my entire day/morning sleeping. I wouldn't want to miss anything!

Comments: Very cheap, but you should know --Navy base across river, helicopers overhead from early morning to late night --Lots of birds=lots of noise starting at sunrise --Sand fleas are oppressive at night, bring bug spray --Miles away from stores, camp store out of stock on lots of items, come prepared --Campsites VERY close together, lack of privacy --No shade whatsoever, bring appropriate shelter from sun --Very exposed and windy, difficult to start a fire --Beach is loud and busy with cars, looked like a monster truck rally. Littering was a problem despite ample trashcans. --A particular staff member was very rude, and used profanity. He swerved in front of our car and almost hit us to get our attention to tell us he had seen us speeding. I can't recall speeding in the park, but regardless it was a very rude way to tell us to slow down. He made me cry.
