Historic Waterhouse ResidenceMaitland Historical Museums |
Site features four museums, two of which are historic in nature; the restored 1884 Waterhouse home and carpentry shop are open to the public, exhibiting Maitland and Waterhouse family history, furnishings, tools and textiles. Woodworking methods and techniques of the late-1800s are demonstrated.
The Maitland Historical Museum relates the history of Maitland from the Seminole Wars period of 1838 to the present; a Telephone Museum exhibits Mailtand telephone history from 1910-present. Museums are open Tuesday-Sunday; closed major holidays.
