Eden State Gardens

Once the home of the William Henry Wesley family and the hub of the Wesley Lumber Company, the 12-acre park is a place of beauty and tranquility where visitors can enjoy the gardens, grounds and picnic area from 8am until sundown daily. Peak bloom in the gardens occurs around mid-March, when camellias and azaleas accent the moss-draped live oaks that dominate the lawns. The house, which was refurbished and developed by Lois Maxon as a showplace for her collection of family heirlooms and antiques, is open hourly for guided tours from 9am-4pm Thursday through Monday. A picnic area with adjacent parking is available at the old mill site on Tucker Bayou.
