Dade Battlefield State Historic Site

This is the site of the 1835 battle which marked the beginning of the second Seminole War. Three remained alive out of the 108 soldiers that began that day on December 28. The story of this historical battle is told in the site's visitor center.

Visitors here can follow a nature trail which includes trail labels that mark the military road and battlefield.

The park also includes 6 picnic shelters, a recreation hall equipped with full kitchen facilities, restrooms, and a shuffleboard court.

This Historic State Park is located off I-75 and S.R. 48, west of Highway 301.
