Civil War Soldiers Museum

The Civil War Soldiers Museum houses one of the nation's largest displays of Civil War medical artifacts, as well as the personal artifacts of Confederate Secretary of the Navy, Stephen R. Mallory, and hundreds of items used by the common soldier during this historic period which make up the private collection of Pensacola specialist Dr. Norman W. Haines, Jr.

Visitors get an in-depth look at the Civil War through a diverse collection of artifacts, uniforms, equipment, weapons, art, hand-crafted authentic figurines, and life-sized camp scenes that include a Confederate Medical Field Hospital with an amputation in progress. Originally from Hagerstown, MD, Dr. Haines began his high-quality historic collection as a young boy. Opening its doors in 1991, the non-profit Museum has become a premiere Civil War educational and historical site. Open Tuesday-Saturday; closed major holidays. Located just north of the Saenger Theatre in downtown Pensacola.
