Bonnet House

A 35-acre beachfront estate that was the winter residence of artists Frederic & Evelyn Bartlett, now one of South Florida's outstanding historic homes. Built in the 1920s, the estate features lagoons, gardens, and an art gallery. Also of note are pieces of art and hand-painted ceilings created by the Bartletts, whose unconventional sense of humor is evident throughout the property.

The Bonnet House also sponsors the Young Artist Music Series which takes place outdoors on the veranda lawn on Thursday evenings. Rental of the historic site is offered for special occasions, and tours are available. The house is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday afternoons, closed holidays. Schedule may vary, phone ahead.
