Blue Spring State Park

This beautiful state park features an opportunity for visitors to view one of Florida's oddest & rarest residents, the manatee. A chair-accessible observation platform provides a unique look at these endangered mammals from November to March, when the manatees leave the St Johns River to make their home in the park's 72-degree spring; park-sponsored interpretative programs provide visitors with information on these fascinating creatures.

Camping at the park is plentiful within walking distance of the river and spring run; primitive camping is accessible to registered backpackers. Water recreation includes swimming and scuba diving in a warm, clear spring run; canoe rentals, an accessible fishing pier, and boathouse facilities are also available. The park offers two picnic areas, one with group pavilion, and a self-guided boardwalk guides leads through a lush hammock to Blue Spring.
