Wells Fargo History Museum |
Located in Wells Fargo Center, the museum describes the development of the West in general and the Wells Fargo Bank since its founding in 1852.
Highlights include a stagecoach, a 2-pound gold nugget, prospecting and assaying equipment, bank notes, photographs, and lithographs from the 1800's. Visitors can climb aboard the stagecoach and listen to a firsthand description of the three-week journey west from St Louis, Missouri.
The museum is open weekdays except bank holidays. Admission to the museum is free.
The Wells Fargo History Museum in Sacramento is a companion museum.
