Wells Fargo History Museum

Located in Wells Fargo Center, the museum describes the development of the West in general and the Wells Fargo Bank since its founding in 1852.

Highlights include a stagecoach, a 2-pound gold nugget, prospecting and assaying equipment, bank notes, photographs, and lithographs from the 1800's. Visitors can climb aboard the stagecoach and listen to a firsthand description of the three-week journey west from St Louis, Missouri.

The museum is open weekdays except bank holidays. Admission to the museum is free.

The Wells Fargo History Museum in Sacramento is a companion museum.
