The Pride of the Pajaro Valley

Watsonville was incorporated on March 30, 1868, and came under a city charter in 1903. Watsonville derived its name from Judge John Watson, who came to the valley in 1851. Surrounded by the beauty of the ocean and hills the area is rich in recreational facilities, with miles of pristine beaches, state parks and forests.

Watsonville is located south of San Francisco between Salinas and Santa Cruz along US Highway 101 near Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Watsonville is part of the Santa Cruz-Watsonville, California metro area.
