Warner Hollywood Studios |
The current site of Warner Hollywood Studios was established in 1919 as the Pickford-Douglas Studios, home of actress Mary Pickford and actor Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. In 1922, D.W. Griffith and Charlie Chaplin joined the team and in 1928 it was renamed the United Artists Studio. It reigned as one of Hollywood's greatest sites which produced classic films from the silents to the modern era such as Robin Hood, The Thief of Baghdad and Taming of the Shrew. Warner Brothers purchased the studio in 1980 renaming it Warner Hollywood Studios.
The studio is located on the south side of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, just west of La Brea Avenue.
