Twain Harte California

In the early 1800's, Twain Harte was a forested area where the Miwok Indians along with deer, bear, elk and smaller animals. Today, Twain Harte is a resort community that has many full-time and part-time residents. Twain Harte has maintained its forest setting. Homes and businesses are shadowed by tall evergreens. Twain Harte prides itself at the Gateway to the High Sierra.

This small resort community is located south of Mi Wuk Village and east of Stockton on Highway 108.
