Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary |
The Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary is owned by the California State University, Fullerton and operated by the Department of Biology. This region is relatively untouched wilderness adjacent to southern California's most densely populated area. The Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary hosts approximately 40,000 visitors annually and has an education program that reaches about 11,000 students each year.
Nature trails wind through the 12-acre site of the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary, which is noted for its native plants and its hummingbirds. An observation porch affords views of the area and visitors are aided in their identification by plaques. A nature center displays several small native animals, live as well as stuffed and mounted.
The sanctuary is open daily excluding Christmas. A nominal admission charge.
