Studio City is one of 24 named communities in the San Fernando Valley, which are part of the incorporated City of Los Angeles. Studio City received its name as a result of the filming activities of Mack Sennett during the silent film era in the 1920's. Studio City is ideally situated for living, working or relaxing in Southern California.
Studio City is located in Los Angeles County between Sherman Oaks and Hollywood along US Highway 101 near the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
This historic city was once part of the large movie productions taking place in nearby Hollywood. Now, Studio City is part of the Greater Los Angeles providing many major attractions. Studio City is part of the Los Angeles-Long Beach, California metro area.
