San Bernardino Asistencia

The Asistencia, or more correctly, the Estancia, was established in 1819 as a part of the Mission San Gabriel's Rancho San Bernardino. Located approximately one mile from the present site, it functioned as an outpost for cattle grazing. This original complex consisted of a single rectilinear chapel for serving mass protected by a low wall.

The facility is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Group tours are available by appointment. Admission is by donation.
