The $9 million restoration project has transformed what was once a small rural airport into a large facility boasting more hangars, two lighted runways, heliport, tie downs, and room for 80 small aircraft.

This is the first new airport in California in over a decade. The Airport is located only 2 miles from the Sacramento River. The Airport houses an aircraft maintenance and flight school. The Rio Vista Airport also has a Chevron "Fast-Pay" fuel-island providing 24-hour, 7-day service. Businesses may select from 14 acres of business and manufacturing sites. There is a large residential development with championship gold courses under construction near the airport. There are also 20 marinas offering fishing, boating, windsurfing, and restaurants.
