North Beach and Russian Hill are home to San Francisco's first Italian section. The area is famous for its restaurants, bookstores, coffeehouses, markets and the bawdy nightlife along Broadway.
Located across Columbus Avenue sits Russian Hill. Russian Hill offers a commanding view of the waterfront. The center of Russian Hill is accessible by the Hyde-Powell cable car and two Muni buses. The 19 runs along Polk Street, stopping at every block from Ghirardelli Square to the Tenderloin.
