Moss Beach California |
This small coastal community is located about 20 miles south of San Francisco and and about 5 miles north of Half Moon Bay on Highway 1. Moss Beach is part of the San Francisco, California metro area.
During the "Prohibition Era", Moss Beach was an important landing for illicit liquor shipments into San Francisco. There is a popular fine dining restaraunt, the Moss Beach Distillery Restaurant, located right on the beach. The restaraunt is about 3/4 mile west of US Highway 1.
