Masonic Hall

This building is a version of a wooden Greek Revival temple with hand-split redwood clapboards, square-laticed windows, and pilasters at the corners. The lodge temple was started in 1850 and was completed in 1851 at a cost of $14,000. The Benicia Lodge No. 5 is one of the original lodges in California. When completed, the first floor was used as a court room, and for Solano County offices, as Benicia was the county seat for Solano County.
