Lee Vining is close to The Mono Craters, a volcanic wonder of California. The Mono Craters are mountains of pumice with a moon like surface and sporadic trees and shrubs cling tenaciously to their slopes. The Lee Vining area includes the High Sierra, the Dana Plateau, and Yosemite.
Lee Vining is located in Mono County east of Modesto between Bridgeport and June Lake along US Highway 395 near Mono Lake and the Nevada state line.
