Jackson California

The City of Jackson is located in the heart of Californias historic Mother Lode, 45 miles east of Sacramento and Stockton. Jackson began as a gold mining camp in 1848. Jackson is known for its rich gold rush history and beautiful Victorian era neighborhoods.

Jackson offers beautiful subdivisions and convenient shopping centers. Jackson has many local restaurants that offer fine ethnic dining, and several local wineries are just a short drive away. Jackson is also home to the only movie theater complex in Amador.

Jackson is located in Amador, of which it is the county seat, southeast of Sacramento between Placerville and Angels Camp along Highway 49 near the Pardee and Camanche reservoirs.

There is also a Jackson, Wyoming.
