University of the Pacific |
Founded by pioneer Methodist clergy in 1851, the University of the Pacific is California's oldest chartered institution of higher education. Today, the University of the Pacific includes 11 schools and colleges on three different campuses. The 170-acre New England-style main campus is located in Stockton (which is in San Joaquin County), and enrolls 4,288 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Pacific's McGeorge School of Law enrolls 947 students on its Sacramento campus, while the San Francisco-based Dental School enrolls 462.
UOP offers 11 Bachelors degrees (including the Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering), seven Masters (Master of Science in Physical Therapy) and five Doctorates (Doctor of Pharmacy).
Athletic scholarships are given in basketball, baseball and other sports. Student housing is available for 1105.
