Concordia University |
The story of Concordia University dates back to the mid-1950s when a small group of Southern California Lutherans began to plan for a Lutheran college to serve the people of the Pacific Southwest. By 1962 the decision had been made by The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to build the new school. The original name of the institution was Christ College Irvine. From a single building and thirty-six students, the school has grown to twenty buildings and an annual head count of approximately 1,300.
Concordia University includes the Schools of: Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Theology. "Christ College" is a separate entity of the university and carries on the purpose of educating Lutheran teachers, directors of Christian education and church musicians.
Concordia University is located in Irvine, Orange County, CA.
Athletic scholarships are given in basketball, baseball, track/cross country and various sports. Student housing is available for 570.
