Hangtown Gold Bug Park and Mine

Hangtown Gold Bug Park and Mine is on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as a registered State Point of Historic Interest, it is owned and operated by the City of Placerville. It is the only mine in California on public property which visitors can enter.

Picnic tables, trails and rest rooms are available, along with plenty of parking. The park offers both guided and self-guided tours.

Hangtown Gold Bug Park and Mine is located on 61.5 acres, one mile north of Bedford Avenue from highway 50 and downtown Placerville.
