Emma Wood State Beach

A great place for water activities with its moderate ocean temperature, Emma Wood State Beach offers swimming, surfing and fishing for perch, corbina and others. At the southwest end of the beach is a freshwater marsh that attracts raccoons, songbirds and red-tailed hawks. You may even catch sight of a dolphin. Also featured is a crumbling ruin of a WWII coastal artillery site. There is a grassy area for groups and a campground for hikers and bikers.

The beach is 2 miles west of Ventura. North Beach is reached by way of Hwy 101. The group camp's entrance is at the west end of Main Street in Ventura.
