Egret & Heron Rookery-Oroville |
The Thermalito Afterbay is home to at least 35 species of mammals and 177 species of birds, including wood ducks. Most are permanent residents.
There is an Egret & Heron Rookery in the preserve area with viewing from January through July. The peak nesting season is between March and April.
