Descanso Gardens |
This woodland garden is located in the midst of California Chaparral, south of Foothill Blvd. Within the 165-acre botanical garden are found almost 100,000 camellia shrubs, which bloom from October through March. The 5-acre International Rosarium presents 4000 antique and modern roses, planted informally amidst shrubs, annual and perennials. Their peak season runs from April through December.
Horticultural events are accommodated at the Georgie Van de kamp Hall and Rose Pavilion. There is also a teahouse in the Japanese Garden. Guided tram tours are offered.
Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
