Crocker Art Museum

Margaret Crocker gave the E. B. Crocker Art Gallery to the City of Sacramento and the California Museum Association in 1885. It is the longest continuously operating public art museum west of the Mississippi. Since 1885, the museum's holdings have grown through gifts and purchases. Major gifts of photography, international ceramics, Indian and Persian miniature paintings, and Victorian decorative arts have led to new areas of collecting, and the museum has continued the Crocker family's California interests, resulting in a fine collection of contemporary Northern California art.

Paintings, drawings, sculpture and decorative arts are exhibited. Traveling exhibits are displayed in the main room. Guided tours are available upon request. The museum is closed Mondays, New Years Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
